DAC Med and PM&R interest group invite you to join us for "Approach to a Patient with a Disability" on Thursday October 9th at 12 pm!

 

Dr. Amin, a practicing physiatrist and director of MS2 course SBM, will be giving a talk on how to approach treating patients with disabilities. This event is a great opportunity to learn how to be a better advocate and physician, since we will all encounter patients with disabilities no matter the speciality that we choose.

 

During this event, we will cover:

-What is PM&R?

-Disability vs. impairment vs. handicap? How are these terms different and how are they used in the healthcare profession?

-Demonstration of physical exam/interview for a patient with a disability.
