What if medicine didn’t just take from us, but also gave something back?

Join us for a special Solidarity Week conversation with OSA Insider Podcast’s Dr. Neda Frayha, a general internist and medical educator, as she leads an intimate conversation with her patient of 14 years, who is also a longtime UMMC clinical leader and former cath lab technician.

Together, they will explore the meaning of longitudinal relationships, what it feels like to experience medicine from both the patient and clinician perspectives, and how patient relationships can sustain us rather than drain us. The conversation will also reflect on professionalism, boundaries, and how to preserve joy and identity in medicine. The session will conclude with guided reflection questions and open Q&A.

This is an invitation for medical students of all years to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with why they chose this path. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is limited to 100 attendees. Sign-up is open.

Join us for this day of reflection by viewing ourselves through the lens of some of the many patients we will encounter in the wards and in our career.

GHHS presents the screening of Wit which follows the life of Vivian Bearing, a professor of English literature, when she is diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer. The screening will be accompanied by a guided discussion of important themes to highlight the emotional and spiritual journey patients endure when diagnosed with a terminal illness.
