2) Describe the muscles present against or as part of the posterior abdominal wall.
3) Describe the structure, connections, and foramen of the diaphragm.
4) Describe nerves and vessels traversing the posterior abdominal region into the pelvis.
5) Describe the peritoneum across the pelvis and how it forms fossa and ligaments between structures.
6) Identify structures on the checklist.
DISSECTION GOALS
A) Expose vascular elements along the posterior abdomen.
B) Expose nerve branches from the lumbar plexus.
C) Expose muscles against and forming the posterior abdominal wall.
D) Examine how peritoneal folds form fossa and ligaments over and between the pelvic organs.
