Residency Advising Meetings will be schedule for May/June/July. Your MSPE writer will contact you to schedule a meeting.
Meeting will discuss: remaining scheduling questions;
graduation requirements; residency application; and the following regarding residency applications:
- How competitive is my specialty?
- How many programs should I apply to?
- Which programs should I apply to?
- Contingency planning
Checklist to be completed prior to your meeting
- Complete the Career Tab on MedScope and your Preferred Pronouns
- Review your schedule/graduation requirements
- Review packet information, included below
- Review the Residency Application Handbook
The below are NOT required but may be helpful
- Meet with Departmental Mentors
- Create a preliminary list of programs of interest
- Create a CV Draft (CV Tips); we will not go through this at the meeting but can answer specific questions
- Create a Personal Statement draft; we are happy to review outside the meeting timeframe
